An interesting question. First and foremost, I am Renee Rutana. I am many things and one all the same. I create and take away. My views shift from day to day, because I always try to see both sides to every situation. I am a painter of landscapes and seascapes, but for a long time, I've been drawn to painting rowboats. I've been told I should paint people for a living, but right now that's not my focus. I enjoy reading and writing. I am a mother of three, a grown son and and little boy and girl, oh, and also a wife. I love and respect nature (except mosquitoes, ticks and other things like that). I like science. I tend to look at the world with a unclouded view. I like science fiction and fairy tales, hate reality tv (whose reality is it anyway? Not mine or anyone I know).
What I'm not... I'm not very political, although I do have a preference. I'm not mainstream, although I may appear that way if you don't know me. I don't gossip and I don't care to. No one's perfect. I'm not Supermom, but I try to be the best mom to my kids. I'm not a Stepford Wife. When it comes to my art, I'm not a "Hobbyist" I shall prevail until I can no longer do it. Even then, I would find alternate ways to continue pursuing my dream.
